Tyler Derrik was born in 1981 to a bassist and a Registered Nurse. His parents
bought him his first drum set at age two so that he would stop destroying his
mother's pots and pans. "It just came naturally to him," his mother explains.
Tyler joined The Knowing Hand in January 2009 because he loves to write his
own music. His musical background includes marching band, jazz band,playing
drums at the Las Vegas Firegrill with the house band, and jamming every genre
every chance he gets. He has also played in the Mountain Home area with Hobbs
and Neighbors. Tyler's "other job" is with the Arkansas Army National Guard,
and he is a Star Wars fan. Tyler's favorite band is Tool, some other major musical
influences in his life are Rush, Ten Years, Korn, Pink Floyd,Slipknot, and Red
Hot Chilipeppers.
